JFBaldwin aggressively builds his paintings through a tedious process of addition and subtraction to produce familiar and indeterminate images culminating into a show that subverts style for the sake of the sub-narrative. Images range from the traditional to the abstract. . Justin Franklin Baldwin lives and works in the Philadelphia area. He showed extensively in Atlanta, Georgia prior to receiving his MFA from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. In this exhibition, his paintings will be accompanied by sketches, photos, short stories and assemblages. The grouping of images and objects will aid in conveying a narrative to the audience. As the parts build a whole, the viewer is welcome to observe as the pieces are put into place.
