Jerry Mischak is a Providence-New York based sculptor. His recent explorations
involve a combination of consumer materials and urban debris. The work is unconventional, to say the least. Mischak creates
stunning and engagingly weird compositions wrapped or sealed in duct tape or plastic. His pieces carry a certain humanity,
effecting a sense of cherished functionality. His process is bold and playful, and not without the intensity of hardy experimentation. The March 20, 2008 issue of New York Times, featured Mischak alongside
his wife, Wendy Edwards, for the remarkable renovation of a Rhode Island firehouse, now their studio and home.
